Q: Can I have any name for my website?
Sometimes. You may be able to have the website name (called a “URL” or a domain name) of your choice as long as it has not already been allocated to someone else. There is some flexibility in the naming of domains, for example a “.co.uk” domain may be available whereas a “.com” may not. Also you may consider including a dash or underscore in the name (no blanks) if your first choice is not available, for example “www.xxx-yyy.com” in place of “www.xxxyyy.com”.
Choosing your new domain name is one of the first actions following agreement to proceed – we can advise you interactively by use of an online database which lists the domain names that are available and what your other options may be (for example a different “extension” or “suffix”).
Q: What e-mail address can I have?
So, if you select a domain name of “rightsaidfred.co.uk” (sorry – already taken!) you would be known as: “email@example.com”.
Of course, since you would own the domain name, the username (“xxxxxxxx”) can be anything you like! For example, info@ or sale@ or bookings@. It is also possible to split up the username, for example if there was more than one “richard” in your organisation, “richard@…” could be specified as richard.surname@…” – as the owner of the domain, the choice is yours.
Q: Do I have to provide the written content for the website myself?
Not necessarily – your website can have content (the “Copy”) written professionally by us – we are professional Copy Writers.
Soon after you commission us to create your web solution, we’ll be in touch with you to discuss the details of your business and identify what you would like to see for each page of your new site. The “copy” can then be written and uploaded onto a test domain for your approval.
Of course, if you want to write any or all of it for yourself, you can do – or we can make it a team effort!
Q: What are the hosting arrangements for my website?

Q: How much will I be charged for my website?
Since all our websites are customised to your needs, it’s impossible to state a specific price here, after all, no two websites are the same. Of course, we’ll provide a quote to you as soon as we have been able to discuss roughly what you need from your website and whether you will be taking any “additional” features such as an email address SEO etc. If you decide to have a WordPress theme there could be a cost involved, depending on the theme you choose.
Naturally, an agreed figure is set before we start any work, and this figure will be adhered to unless further requirements are made by you as the client during development. Be assured that we are very flexible and will do all we can to make you a satisfied customer.
Q: What are my payment options?
We can also accept payment by PayPal (and thus most major credit cards) though this is subject to a small levy to cover the PayPal payment fee.
Q: Do I have to pay a deposit?
We ask for a deposit when we start work. This is to ensure we are able to cover items which we have to purchase early in development (such as the initial period of domain name rental). The deposit is usually around 1/3 of the agreed final cost.
Q: How long will it take to create my website?
Q: How do I keep my site up to date - do you offer maintenance?
Yes, we offer an excellent value maintenance agreement – click here for more info. If you do decide to have a WordPress theme then it’s possible to update the website yourself through the content management system. We can show you how. We often find that clients start with this intention but don’t actually get the time to do it – especially as “best practice” mean you’d need to take a backup of the site before and after updates to it (as we do). If a backup isnt taken we wouldn’t be able to restore the site to the way it was before you started to update it (and perhaps make a mistake!) – and finding a solution for THAT will be more costly and time consuming. This is usually why clients ask us to do updates for them.
We can have a chat and advise you just why it’s so necessary to keep your website fresh and explain the difference between maintaining the existing site with “fresh” content and actually developing or redeveloping it..
Q: I want a website but I don't know anything about IT or Computers?
This is not a problem. We are here to help at every point in the process, as we are developers and copy writers who can take your vision and make it a reality. We’re sure you know what you would like, even if you don’t know the technical steps needed to create it.
